Fatogoma DIAKITÉ
Former Administrator of Arts and Culture at the Ministry of Culture in Mali and Professor at the Faculty of Letters, Arts, Languages and Human Sciences of the University of Bamako
Mali
Fatogoma DIAKITÉ is the former Administrator of Arts and Culture at the Ministry of Culture in Mali, position from which he retired since January 2013. He supervised many nationwide programs aiming at the promotion of literature in Mali, such as the Programme du Réseau des Centres de Lectures et d'Animation Culturelle (Reading and Cultural Animation Centers coordination program), led in partnership with the OIF from 2007 to 2015. He also coordinated the Franco-Malian project "Appui à la Filière du Livre au Mali"(Supporting to the book industry in Mali) between 2001 and 2007, and the project "Lecture publique du Mali" (Public reading of Mali) between 1982 and 2001. He is a professor at the Faculty of Letters, Arts, Languages and Human Sciences of the University of Bamako since 2004, and a member of the African Consultative Group for Libraries since July 2013. Fatogoma DIAKITÉ was awarded the French distinction of Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters in 1999, as well as the Malian Medal of National Merit in 2000.
