Training for public institutions on anti-discrimination by Ombudspersons staff members

Lawyers of the Institution of Ombudsman for Human Rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who successfully completed Training for Trainers, are conducting training for representatives of public institutions in Zvornik on 9 November 2018.

The training aimed at raising awareness of persons working in public administration of discrimination, including of overview of the most common cases of discrimination on the national level. It contributed to making participants capable of recognizing cases of discrimination, an appropriate handling of such cases in their daily work and made them aware of where to address cases that need further attendance – to the Institution of Human Rights Ombudsman. A further tool for a simplified reorganization of discrimination is the handed over Manual on anti-discrimination produced under the Action.

The training was organised within the framework of the Action implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina: “Strengthening the Human Rights Ombudsman to Fight Discrimination” – which is a part of the Joint Programme between the European Union and the Council of Europe “Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans and Turkey”, as a three-year programme (May 2016 – May 2019), focusing on three themes: ensuring justice, fighting corruption, economic crime and organised crime, as well as combating discrimination and protecting the rights of vulnerable groups.
