Back Call for expression of interest to establish a Platform of exchange among municipalities and cities across Bosnia and Herzegovina

Call for expression of interest to establish a Platform of exchange among municipalities and cities across Bosnia and Herzegovina on open government for transparent, inclusive and citizen-oriented local policy making is launched in the framework of the project Innovating democratic participation at local level in Bosnia and Herzegovina”. This project is implemented by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities within the Council of Europe Action Plan for Bosnia and Herzegovina 2022-2025.

The objective of this call, prepared in co-operation with the Association of Municipalities and Cities of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Association of Municipalities and Cities of Republika Srpska, is to support a selected group of local authorities to enhance the quality of local democracy and foster open government and public ethics.

This Platform of Exchange will provide peer-to-peer exchanges and sharing of experiences among municipalities and cities, as well as with European counterparts. It will help develop strategic capabilities and collaboration on topics of common interest and shared challenges.

The letter of motivation, together with the information sheet on the applicant local authority, must be submitted in electronic form (Word and/or PDF) in English or in a local language to the following e-mail address: [email protected].    

 

E-mails should contain the following reference in subject line: Platform of Exchange _CoE _Expression of interest_Name of the municipality/city.

 

Any question, related to the Call should be submitted by 15 April 2022 until 17.00h, in English or in a local language, to the following e-mail address: [email protected].    

Applications must be received until 19 April 2022.

The project “Innovating democratic participation at local level in Bosnia and Herzegovina” aims to enhance the quality of local democracy and create opportunities for citizens to engage in innovative participatory processes in Mostar and elsewhere in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It promotes new democratic approaches, open government, public ethics, transparent and inclusive local policy making in the country.

The project is implemented by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe as part of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Bosnia and Herzegovina 2022-2025, and in line with the principles enshrined in the European Charter for Local Self-Government (ETS No. 122) and its Additional Protocol on the right to participate in the affairs of a local authority (CETS No.207).
