This year, from 16 to 19 November, the Global Education Week focuses on how critical thinking and engagement with different perspectives can reshape the narratives that shape our lives, turning awareness into collective action and contributing to stronger democratic societies.

Through education, critical thinking helps individuals question information, engage in meaningful dialogue and make informed decisions. It also strengthens democratic participation by encouraging everyone, especially young people, to express their views, respect different perspectives and take action in their communities. 

The Global Education Week offers numerous opportunities for participation in organising activities and aims to foster learning communities committed to active global citizenship. Activities may include workshops, debates, conferences, awareness-raising campaigns, exhibitions, training sessions, cultural events, online initiatives and more.

Educators, students, civil society organisations, government agencies, educational institutions and communities around the world are invited to come together and address global challenges through local action. This week also provides an opportunity to reflect on the complex relationships of global interdependence and collective responsibility, while recognising the contributions of every culture and individual.
