GREVIO reviews state report with representatives from Turkey

On 11 October 2017, under its first (baseline) evaluation procedure, GREVIO held a dialogue with the authorities of Turkey on issues related to their state report.

The Turkish delegation included the Ambassador Erdoğan İŞCAN (Permanent Representative of Turkey to the Council of Europe) and was composed of various representatives from Turkey: Ms Aysel Kandemir, Undersecretary, Ministry of Family And Social Policy; Mr Hakkı Öztürk, Deputy Undersecretary, Ministry of Family and Social Policy; Ms Gülser Ustaoğlu, General Director, General Directorate on the Status of Women;  Ms Muzaffer Uyav Gültekin, Deputy to the Permanent Representative of Turkey to the Council of Europe; Ms Göknur Akçadağ; Head of International Organizations Department, General Directorate on the Status of Women; Mr Mustafa Çadır, Head of Women’s Policies Department, General Directorate on the Status of Women; Mr Muhittin Özdemir, Head of Victim Rights Department, Ministry of Justice; Mr Tarıkan Çetiner, Directorate General of Turkish National Police, Chief of Branch Office for Combating Domestic Violence; Ms Özlem Yılmaz, General Command of Gendarmerie- Chief of Branch Office for Children and Combating Domestic Violence; Ms Meryem Tatlıer Baş, Expert, General Director, General Directorate on the Status of Women.

A GREVIO delegation will carry out a visit to Turkey from 30 October to 6 November 2017 in order to assess the situation on the ground and report back to GREVIO.

GREVIO is scheduled to adopt its evaluation report on Turkey in June 2018 and to publish it in September 2018.
