Last night, the Eurimages New lab Awards presented as part of CPH:FORUM in Copenhagen honoured two film projects:
The production company Haut et Court Doc received the €30,000 Outreach Award for the project DON'T LET THE SUN GO UP ON ME, directed by Asmae El Moudir. The jury for this prize, composed of producer and director Elena Fortes, founder and managing director of sales company Together Films, Sarah Mosses, and Bulgaria’s representative on the Eurimages Board of Management, Stefan Prohorov, chose to support this project for its audacity to “shine a light on the bright colours of darkness and reveal a hidden story through a daring, innovative and singular artistic vision”.
The €20,000 Innovation Award was awarded to the production company Anna Lena Films for the COSMOFONIA project, to be directed by Véréna Paravel. The jury for this award consisted of curator and independent writer Jesse Cumming, Simon Lajboschitz, CEO of the Danish company Khora Virtual Reality, and Carole Kremer, Luxembourg’s representative on the Eurimages Board of Management. Impressed by its innovative nature in the truest sense, the jury members chose to reward this project, which “opens new worlds of previously unheard sounds and unseen images, and that pushes the art of cinema beyond the realm of human perception”.

This edition concludes the 2024–2026 cycle of the New Eurimages Lab Awards. A call for proposals has been launched to select the initiatives that will present these awards during the next three-year cycle (2027–2029), with results to be announced in the summer of 2026.

The €20,000 Innovation Award was handed out to the project DAUGHTERS OF THE SEA by Martika Ramirez Escobar, a co-production between This Side Up & Arkeofilms (Philippines) and Alba Sotorra Cinema Productions (Spain). The jury made up of the Polish producer Klaudia Śmieja-Rostworowska from Madants, Frédéric Boyer from Tribeca Festival and Stefan Prohorov from the Bulgarian National Film Center for Eurimages chose this project “for daring to rethink the conventions of filmmaking for the sake of artistic integrity and authentic cross-cultural storytelling”. The Eurimages New Lab Award will go to Alba Sotorra Cinema Production, the Spanish producer.
The €30,000 Outreach Award went to the project LFD HOPE by Joshua Loftin, a co-production between Sea Fox Films, Lorenz Films, Gallivant Film (UK) and Good Kids Productions in Hungary. The same jury decided to reward this project “for the audacity to treat fragility as a way to strengthen communities and paving a clear path towards inclusive dialogues on topics silenced by conformity”.
