Brussels, 26-27 May 2026: Following its hosting of the 2025 edition, the Council of Europe contributes to the 2026 European Dialogue on Internet Governance (EuroDIG), an open multi-stakeholder platform to exchange views about the Internet and how it is governed. The 2026 edition will focus on “European Voices for the Future of the Internet – Celebrating 20 Years of .eu and the Beginning of a New Internet Governance Era”. It is hosted by EURid and supported by the European Commission. Under the New Democratic Pact for Europe, the Council of Europe will join for a debate on its intersection with democracy and share its expertise on transversal digital governance issues ranging from AI, personal data protection, media and information society, cybercrime, combatting discrimination and online gender violence, digitalisation of justice and digital education of legal professionals, internet governance and youth role. A survey on AI and democracy will also be shared with participants and EuroDIG “Messages” will be presented to the Internet Governance Forum (IGF).
