Hungarian municipalities shared innovative approaches to old-age care, child protection, heritage promotion and community safety during a conference in Gödöllő (Hungary) on 26 November 2024, organised with Congress support.
Municipalities of Alsómocsolád, Budapest XIth District, Budapest XIIIth District, Győr, Jánoshida, Kecskemét, Kiscsősz and Pécs were recognised for their practices in these areas. The Best Practice Award Ceremony offered a platform to share those initiatives.
Based on a methodology of the Centre of Expertise for Multilevel Governance, the Hungarian National Association of Local Authorities (TÖOSZ) has implemented the Best Practice Programme since 2008, in partnership with other local government associations and central authorities. The Programme is aimed at supporting local authorities to learn from each other.
