Working together with the Supreme Court on Evaluation of the performance of criminal justice system

The Council of Europe and the European Union organised online training for the staff of the analytical department of the Supreme Court on evaluation of the performance of the criminal justice system. The purpose of the process evaluation is to provide relevant parties with technical information that can assist them in developing and implementing similar programs in the future.

The participants discussed matters related to criteria-based assessment, basics on measuring institutional performances, specific rules for criminal justice and basics of statistical analysis for criminological purposes. Training participants actively contributed to the group work exercises. The analytical department of the Supreme Court reviewed different assessment methodologies on a basis of their daily work cases.

This training was organised in the framework of the project "Supporting the criminal justice reforms - tackling criminal aspects of the judicial reforms in Georgia", funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe in their Partnership for Good Governance II.
