Election of members of the European Committee of Social Rights

The Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe elected two new members of the European Committee of Social Rights at the 1450th meeting of the Ministers’ Deputies on 30 November 2022 (CM/ResChS(2022)6). The new members are:

  • Ms Monika Šimůnková (Czech Republic), lawyer, former Deputy Public Defender of the Czech Republic; former Member of the Committee for Children's Rights, Government Council for Human Rights  
  • Ms Carmen Salcedo Beltran (Spain), Professor of Labour law and social security University of Valencia (Spain); Director of the International Research Group about “Human Rights and European Social Charter

Moreover, the Ministers’ Deputies re-elected for another term Ms Aoife Nolan (Ireland), Professor of International Human Rights Law and Co-Director of the Human Rights Law Centre, School of Law, University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, and Ms Kristine Dupate (Latvia), Associate Professor, International and European law, Faculty of Law, University of Latvia

The term of office for these members will begin on 1 January 2023 and end on 31 December 2028.

Two more members will be elected at the beginning of 2023. The deadline for the nomination of candidates was set to 3 January 2023 at noon (CET).
