Indietro European pillar of social rights: critical legal analysis and proposals

Report of the European Trade Union Institute (ETUI)
European pillar of social rights: critical legal analysis and proposals

The European Social Charter and the case-law of the European Committee of Social Rights are mentioned on several occasions in the ETUI report, emphasizing that the “European Union would be supporting full compliance with these standards [Council of Europe standards] and ensuring that the recommendations of the Council of Europe bodies are effectively implemented”.

After providing a detailed background and a general evaluation of the proposed EU Pillar on social rights, the report makes a critical legal analysis and puts forward a number of proposals, including the structure of the Pillar.
