15 resource officers from Tbilisi, Guria and Adjara completed The Training of Trainers on Human Rights Education and enhanced their knowledge on: anti-discrimination policies, tools to fight against stereotypes, and children's rights, equality and diversity. They have been equipped with the skills and knowledge to continue working on human rights education and implement various educational activities in schools addressing discrimination and promoting equality and diversity among schoolchildren and their peers.

The training programme on human rights education was developed by the end of 2019 through the joint co-operation between the Office of Resource Officers of Educational Institutions and the Council of Europe. The programme was developed and the trainings of trainers were conducted by Council of Europe experts. Within the programme, about 60 staff members (psychologists, social workers and resource officers) of the Office of Resource Officers of Educational Institutions were trained. In 2021-2022, trained resource officers held the trainings for about 900 resource officers as well as 1000 informational and educational meetings for students in public schools.

This activity is implemented in the framework of the Project “Promoting the Effective Protection of Equality and Non-Discrimination in Georgia.” The Project is funded through the Council of Europe Action Plan for Georgia 2020-2023.
