On 3 and 4 June 2025, the Council of Europe organised a two-day Training of Trainers on Identification and response to sexual violence against children in Batumi for 21 social workers and resource officers from Adjara, Guria and Samegrelo regions.
The training, facilitated by the team of international and local consultants, focused on strengthening the participants’ understanding of online safety risks, including emerging technologies and child protection challenges in the digital space.
Participants enhanced their ability to identify digital safety threats, as well as to prevent and respond to online child sexual exploitation and abuse, while also gaining broader awareness of issues such as cyberbullying, misinformation, persuasive design in technology, and digital security. The training provided practical strategies and tools to apply within their organisations and communities and offered guidance on engaging and supporting parents in managing children’s digital lives.
The event fostered collaboration among professionals, building a network for continued peer learning. By the end of the training, participants were equipped to share the knowledge within their respective peers and institutions, extending the programme’s reach across Georgia.
The event was organised under the Project “Combating Violence Against Children in Georgia”, implemented within the Council of Europe Action Plan for Georgia 2024-2027.
