The Action continues to provide support in analysing the legal and institutional setup of the legislation governing property rights in Albania. As part of this initiative, the Action is supporting Albanian authorities in drafting a commentary to the Law no. 133/2015 “On treatment of property and finalisation of the process of compensation of property”.

The purpose of the commentary is to interpret the Law no. 133/2015 as well as to clarify the remaining questions about its practical implementation. A tree-day expert retreat on property law was organised on 10-12 December in Korçë and brought together the representatives of the State Advocate and the Agency for Treatment of Property. The commentary will be finailised with the help of the Council of Europe consultant within the next few weeks.

The activity was organised within the framework of the Council of Europe Action entitled “Supporting effective domestic remedies and facilitating the execution of judgments in Albania”, which is being implemented in Albania under the joint Council of Europe and the European Union programme “Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans and Turkey”.
