Reinforcing the capacity of the State Advocate of Albania to protect European human rights standards and to ensure efficient execution of Court’s judgments is essential for the credibility of the Convention.
In this context, the study visit for 13 representatives of the State Advocate to the International Court of Arbitration, French Association for Arbitration and the Council of Europe was been organised on 25-28 February 2019.
The first part of the visit focused on human rights argumentation in international arbitration proceedings and aimed at enhancing the capacities of the State Advocate to defend the interests of the Albanian State in foreign courts and international organisations. During the second part of the visit the participants were presented with the work of the Departmental for the Execution of Judgments of the European Court of Human Rights and had an opportunity to discuss current challenges and possibilities for improvement of the execution process in respect of Albania.
The Action “Supporting effective domestic remedies and facilitating the execution of judgments in Albania” is funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe Horizontal Facility programme and implemented by the Council of Europe.
