The Supreme Court of Justice of the Republic of Moldova (SCJ) hosted a thematic workshop with the participation of its judges, judicial assistants, and representatives of the Court’s structural divisions. The event gathered around 60 participants and aimed to facilitate internal consultations on the future Institutional Development Strategy of the SCJ for 2026–2031.
The meeting was opened by Ms Stela Procopciuc, Acting President of the Supreme Court of Justice, and Ms Mariana Chicu, Head of Unit, Cooperation Programmes Division, Directorate General Human Rights and Rule of Law, Council of Europe.
During the discussions, participants explored and refined the mission, vision, and strategic objectives of the Supreme Court, focusing on three fundamental development pillars:
- Strengthening the role of the SCJ within the national institutional framework;
- Consolidating the internal capacities of the Court;
- Enhancing public trust in the Supreme Court of Justice.
The workshop provided an opportunity for both judges and staff members to share their views, in person and online, on the Court’s strategic orientation, institutional values, and priorities for the coming years.
In their concluding remarks, Ms Procopciuc and Ms Chicu underlined the importance of collective reflection and joint ownership in shaping the Supreme Court’s long-term development vision. The results of this internal consultation will contribute to the drafting of the Institutional Development Strategy of the Supreme Court of Justice.
