Le Conseil de l'Europe travaille pour vous. Nous souhaitons conférer davantage de visibilité au rôle, aux normes et aux activités du Conseil de l'Europe dans ses États membres afin de montrer comment l’adhésion au Conseil de l’Europe a contribué à réaliser des objectifs ou des changements particuliers. Notre but est de souligner, grâce à un éventail d’événements et d’initiatives, comment l’action du Conseil de l'Europe a contribué à améliorer la vie des personnes et leur jouissance des droits fondamentaux.

Qu’il s’agisse de l’impact de la Convention européenne des droits de l'homme au plan national ou des activités du Conseil de l'Europe dans de nombreux domaines, comme l’abolition de la peine de mort, la garantie de la liberté d'expression et de la liberté des médias, ou la lutte contre la violence en ligne et la violence contre les femmes favorisée par la technologie par le biais de la Convention d’Istanbul et de la Convention de Budapest sur la Cybercriminalité, le Conseil de l'Europe a de nombreuses réussites à son actif depuis 1949. Voir les réalisations

• The third Council of Europe Human Rights Day took place in Tampere, Finland, bringing together more than 200 participants – online and in person – from Finnish state administration, civil society, academia, and the Council of Europe. The event focused on the theme “Participation, influence, responsibility – Civil society as part of democracy.”

2 February 2025

• The Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs organised a third annual exchange with Finnish civil society representatives. A broad spectrum of Council of Europe issues was discussed. Read social media post. 

18 September 2024

• “State of human rights in Finland” panel discussion on human rights and the impact of the Council of Europe combining perspectives from the government, Committee of Ministers, and national PACE and Congress delegations. An event organised in the context of the Finnish Municipal Fair gathering together some 7000 participants from all over the country. Read social media post.

• Second annual Council of Europe Human Rights Day focusing on youth engagement. It was also an occasion to celebrate the Council of Europe’s 75^th anniversary, 30 years of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities and 35 years since Finland become a member state - Finland Looks to the Future on Human Rights - Portal

• Council of Europe Human Rights Day in Turku with the Deputy Secretary General as keynote speaker. The event will consist of three parts: panel discussions, research seminar, and a public event for local citizens.

• The Council of Europe and Finnish civil society: A spin-off from a CINGO event organized by the PACE delegation. The event offered practical guide for civil society and led to suggestions for further information events.
