On 9 February 2023, in presence of the Deputy Secretary General, Bjørn Berge, Ambassador Daniela CUJBĂ, Permanent Representative of Moldova to the Council of Europe signed the Amending Protocol to the Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to the Processing of Personal Data (CETS 223).

The Republic of Moldova has been Party to Convention 108 since June 2008. It now needs to undertake the next steps towards ratification of the Amending Protocol to ensure this instrument, that is known as the modernised Convention 108 (Convention 108+), comes to life.
