Fatou JAGNE SENGHOR
President of ARTICLE19 in West Africa
Senegal
Fatou Jagne Senghor is the president of ARTICLE19 in West Africa. Expert in the law of media and communication, she joined ARTICLE19 in Februrary 2002 as a contributor to the Program Africa, and worked at the office based in Johannesburg (South Africa) until 2004. Currently based in Senegal, she directs ARTICLE19’s regional office for West Africa since 2010. Between 2002 and 2005, she coordinated ARTICLE19’s advocacy activities for the drafting of the Declaration of Principles on Freedom of Expression in Africa by the African Commission on Human and People’s Right, as well as technical support for the creation of a Special rapporteur for Freedom of Expression in Africa.
