Three years ago, Bashar fled from Damaskus, Syria, to Berlin, Germany. Having been an export merchant in Syria, he is now looking forward to studying Political Science or Economics in Germany. Since 2015, he is member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) of Germany and board member of the working group „Migration and Diversity“ in SPD Berlin Tempelhof-Schoeneberg. Bashar has completed two internships in the German Parliament in 2015 and 2016 and is founder of the association “MyGrade”, which supports refugees on the job market.
