Prakash BHATTARAI

Nepal
Dr. Prakash Bhattarai is the founder president of Centre for Social Change (CSC), a Kathmandu based research and advocacy institute actively involved in responding to three major obstacles to social change process in Nepal, namely, discrimination, violence, and violation of human rights. Dr. Bhattarai has 15 years of leadership and professional experience on issues surrounding human rights, democracy, peacebuilding, development, migration, and youth, and has been associated with Youth Action Nepal, Association of Youth Organizations in Nepal, and Collective Campaign for Peace. Dr. Bhattarai has led and coordinated a number of democracy and peacebuilding advocacy initiatives working closely with political parties, youth and student organizations, civil society organizations, media, donor agencies, and international organizations. Dr. Bhattarai holds a doctorate degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Otago, New Zealand.
