Witness and victim coordinators strengthen their capacities on juvenile related issues

A series of training sessions were organised for the group of newly appointed regional coordinators of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia working specifically with witnesses and victims . The training programme covered the psychological and legal aspects addressed by the Georgian Code on Children Rights and juvenile justice principles inter alia sexual offences, violence against children and interviewing techniques, victimization and re-victimization as a consequence of a new administrative offence and the methodology for harm prevention. The coordinators also received information about the protection of the juveniles’ data during investigation procedures.

This activity was organised within the framework of the CoE Project “Juvenile and Adult Detainees Support” (JADES) which is designed to address the issues related to the rights of detained persons and their treatment; crimes committed by/against juveniles; effective remedies against police misconduct and effective investigation of alleged ill-treatment.
