Strengthening capacity of investigators to deal with crimes committed on discriminatory grounds

On 13-14 July 2020, the Council of Europe in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs launched a series of trainings on prohibition of discrimination, hate speech and crimes committed on discriminatory grounds.

Trainings are held based on materials developed by the Council of Europe experts and participants involved in the training of trainers organised for the staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on 7-8 June 2019.

Trainings consist of theoretical and practical components covering the following topics: discrimination, hate speech, crimes committed on discriminatory grounds, indicators of ill-treatment and standards of investigation.

The event was organised as part of the Council of Europe co-operation project “Fighting Discrimination, Hate Crime and Hate Speech in Georgia”. The project is conducted with the support of the Danish Neighbourhood Programme in Georgia (DANEP) under the Council of Europe’s Action Plan for Georgia.
