Council of Europe presented the assessment results and recommendations on the development of more efficient judicial internship model at Common Courts of Georgia.

The international expert assessed the existing and developed an improved internship model in compliance with European standards and best practices. The recommendations are built on two main pillars: Implementing of paid internship model and considering the internship period as a professional experience.

Recommendations also focused on the internship process as a whole, including task assignment, evaluation system, selection of supervisor, and the training process.

The successful implementation of recommendations will contribute to the establishment of more efficient feedback mechanisms, assessment criteria, clear job descriptions which overall would lead to an increased interest of newcomers in the Judiciary.

The activity was organised by the Council of Europe project “Support to the Judicial Reform in Georgia”, funded by voluntary contributions of Bulgaria, Liechtenstein, Lithuania Latvia, Norway, the Slovak Republic and Sweden to support the implementation of the Council of Europe Action plan for Georgia 2016-2019.
