Back Launch of the HELP online course "Labour Rights as Human Rights" in Georgia

Launch of the HELP online course

The Council of Europe Project “Strengthening Protection of Social and Economic Rights in Georgia” launched the online HELP course on Labour Rights as Human Rights in Georgia. The course was specifically translated into Georgian and adapted to the needs of the Labour Inspection Office.

The objective of the course is to strengthen the capacity of the 32 representatives of the Labour Inspection Office to carry out their duties and to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to be able to inform employers and employees more effectively about their rights and obligations. The course covers the key concepts of the European labour rights system (Council of Europe/European Union), the case law of the European Court of Human Rights and the European Court of Justice, as well as the regulations and practices provided for by current legislation in Georgia. The Labour Rights as Human Rights course is the first of its kind being implemented in Georgia. The kick-off event was opened by Nato Natenadze, First Deputy Chief Inspector of the Labour Inspection Office, Eva Pastrana, Head of Justice and Human Rights Training Division, Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law of the Council of Europe and Marius Bartninkas, Judge at Kaunas Regional Court, member of the working group that developed the course.

The event was organised within the framework of the Council of Europe Project “Strengthening Protection of Social and Economic Rights in Georgia.” The Project is part of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Georgia 2020-2023.
