Closing ceremony of the project “Strengthening the capacity of the High School of Justice of Georgia”

On 23 January 2018 the Council of Europe Office in Georgia organised the closing ceremony of the project “Strengthening the capacity of the High School of Justice of Georgia”.

The event was attended by the top Management of the High School of Justice, representatives of the High Council of Justice, Government of Georgia, and representatives of embassies of donor states and other international actors, as well as leading NGOs working in the field of justice. The Head of the Council of Europe Legal Cooperation Division Simon Tonelli was present at the event.

The participants reviewed the projects’ results and their sustainability, they also elaborated on the importance of further reform of the School and the continuous training of judges. On the occasion, trainer certificates were issued to judges and other trainers of the High School of Justice who have participated in the development of new modules added to the School’s curricula.

The activity was organised within the framework of the Council of Europe Project “Strengthening the capacity of the High School of Justice of Georgia”. This Project is funded by the voluntary contributions of Bulgaria, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Norway, the Slovak Republic and Sweden to support the implementation of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Georgia 2016-2019.
