Access to the academic law libraries secured for the public entities and universities

The recently established Electronic Law Libraries Consortium enables Constitutional Court staff, students and other civil servants to have access to the wide range of academic sources by the use of Electronic Law Libraries: the Westlaw and the HeinOnline legal research bases. These sources can only be accessed via special permission, subject to the considerable amount of annual membership fee providing comprehensive coverage of thousands of law-related periodicals, academic journals, and other relevant legal papers.

The Consortium now enables parties to split the membership fee obtaining access in a cost-effective manner. This way, access to academic sources becomes more sustainable, accessible, and less dependent on annual donor funding.

The members of the consortium are:
• Constitutional Court of Georgia
• Communications Commission of Georgia
• Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University
• University of Georgia

The Consortium was established upon the direct engagement of the Georgian Law Institute, as supported by the CoE/EU Joint Project “Support to the Judicial reform” within the framework of the Partnership for Good Governance and the USAID-funded program “Promoting Rule of Law in Georgia” (USAID/PROLOG).
