The Action continued to support the working group responsible for drafting the legal arrangements regarding non-conviction-based confiscation. The working group met in the period 18-20 April and revised that last version of the draft legislation with the aim to address several outstanding issues, especially in regard to property reporting, threshold and international cooperation.

The discussions were facilitated by the Action expert, who assisted the working group in resolving and agreeing on solutions to the outstanding issues.

The Action contributed to the discussion by presenting practical case examples and providing advice for strengthening the approach and mitigating the unintended consequences and risks related to the use of the non-conviction based tools. Following the meeting, the consultant prepared a summary with recommendations, as well as provided comparative analyses on international practices with regard to certain issues raised during the meeting.
