Training for public institutions on anti-discrimination by Ombudspersons staff members

Lawyers of the Institution of Ombudsman for Human Rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who successfully completed Training for Trainers, are conducting training for representatives of public institutions on 12 December in Livno.

The training aims at raising awareness on European anti-discrimination standards of persons working in public administration, through presenting an overview of the most common cases of discrimination at the national level. It enables participants to recognize discrimination, act preventively and to establish a direct contact with the Institution of Ombudsman for Human Rights when faced with dilemmas on how to proceed in individual cases. Manual on anti-discrimination produced under the Action was handed to the participants as a further tool for an efficient prevention of discrimination and taking adequate corrective actions.

The training was organised within the action “Strengthening the Human Rights Ombudsman to fight discrimination”, which is being implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a part of the programme “Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans and Turkey”, funded by the European Union and co-funded and implemented by the Council of Europe.
