To present the progress of the joint European Union and the Council of Europe Horizontal Facility Action “Strengthening the Human Rights Ombudsman to fight discrimination” in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the last Steering Committee meeting was held on 12 October 2018 in Sarajevo. The meeting was attended by project partners and beneficiaries.

The discussion focused on the implementation of the project activities during the previous reporting period (October 2017 and October 2018). The Steering Committee members gave a positive opinion on the implementation of the Action and the immediate results while stressing that some of the results will be visible in the future since they will be fruits of the carried out activities within the Action. Work Plan of activities for the remaining period (October-December 2018) was also presented and agreed upon by the participants.

Joint Programme between the European Union and the Council of Europe “Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans and Turkey”, is a three-year programme (May 2016 – May 2019), focusing on three themes: ensuring justice, fighting corruption, economic crime and organised crime, as well as combating discrimination and protecting the rights of vulnerable groups.
