Back Guidelines for the protection of the private life and personal data of victims of human trafficking in Bosnia and Herzegovina published

Following a country-specific recommendation by the Council of Europe Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA) to the authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina “to ensure the issuance of appropriate instructions covering the protection of the private life and identity to all victims of trafficking, including domestic victims, in line with Article 11 of the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings”, related Guidelines have been developed and published in the framework of the joint European Union/Council of Europe action “Preventing and combating trafficking in human beings in Bosnia and Herzegovina“.

The Guidelines will help all levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina to develop and adopt instruments in order to enhance the protection of the private life and personal data of victims of human trafficking. The Guidelines are also intended for professionals dealing with victims of trafficking, including for media when they disseminate information, so as to prevent possible adverse consequences on the victims and their families.

The action "Preventing and combating trafficking in human beings in Bosnia and Herzegovina" is implemented within the joint programme of the European Union/Council of Europe "Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022".
