On December 21, 2024, thirty-four students from the Faculties of Law in Sarajevo and Banja Luka participated in a Moot Court competition, marking the successful conclusion of a two-month training programme under the Human Rights Clinic.

The Human Rights Clinic is an extracurricular activity that provides students with both theoretical and practical knowledge on human rights, with a focus on the practices of the European Court of Human Rights and the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. One of its segments, the Moot Court competition, is carried out with the assistance of professors and certified Council of Europe lecturers to advance law students’ understanding and application of international human right standards.

This program was designed to equip students with essential skills, including researching and analysing facts, formulating arguments based on the European Convention on Human Rights, developing negotiation skills, and fostering effective teamwork.

The two-month  education under the Human Right Clinic in Bosnia and Herzegovina was organised as part of the Council of Europe project to support a coherent national implementation of the European Convention on Human Rights and facilitate the execution of judgements of the European Court of Human Rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project is funded through the Action plan for Bosnia and Herzegovina for the period 2022-2025.
