Back Policy Network members discuss the implementation of the Roadmap for improving inclusive education in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Policy Network of the Horizontal Facility action “Quality Education for All” in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) held a meeting in Vlašić on 24 and 25 June 2021 to discuss the next steps in the implementation of Policy Recommendations with a Roadmap for Improving Inclusive Education in Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted by the Council of Ministers of BiH in September 2020.

 

The meeting focused on several aspects of the implementation process including defining key activities, resources and the timeline for the implementation of the recommendations on quality education developed during the first phase of the Horizontal Facility. The members of the Policy Network also discussed the need for raising awareness both with education institutions and the general public in BiH.   

 

Members of the Policy Network attending the meeting included representatives from the Ministry of Education and Culture of Republika Srpska, ministries responsible for education on cantonal levels and the Department for Education of the Government of Brčko District as well as representatives of the Agency for Pre-primary, Primary and Secondary Education (APOSO). The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to BiH who reiterated their support for the implementation of the Policy Recommendations with a Roadmap for Improving Inclusive Education in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 

The action “Quality education for all” is a part of the joint European Union and the Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022”, implemented by the Council of Europe.
