Examples of spoken proficiency in 5 languages and for 6 levels
Calibrated examples of spoken proficiency in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish with regard to the six levels of the Common European Framework of Reference are the result of a cross-language benchmarking seminar organised at the Centre International d’Etudes Pédagogiques (CIEP) in Sèvres, France, on 23-25 June 2008 in cooperation with various partners.

A DVD (2004) with samples of spoken proficiency illustrating the European levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is available at the Language Policy Unit of the Council of Europe. This DVD is now included in the "Cadre européen commun de référence pour les langues" published by Editions Didier.

The DVD was the product of two seminars to calibrate samples of spoken production in German.
