Back Study Visit of a high-level delegation of Kosovo* to the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights

High level delegation from Kosovo* (Ombudsperson, President of Supreme Court, Chief Prosecutor, Chairperson of the Judicial Council, Chairperson of Prosecutorial Council, Deputy Ombudsperson, and team of the National Preventive Mechanism against Torture) has visited Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR).

 

The visit facilitated a dialog and exchange with representatives of a different bodies of the Council of Europe and the ECtHR. Specific attention was given to interaction with the representatives of the Secretariat of the Kosovo context and last findings of the CPT. Moreover, delegation enhanced their understanding on the case-law of the ECtHR and the role of its Jurisconsult in harmonization of the judicial practice, the work of the Commissionaire of Human Rights, as well updating on digital transformation of justice, particularly in the circumstances of COVID-19 pandemic. Participants were introduced with many practical tools developed by Council of Europe, which could be adjusted for or replicated in the national context and practice.

 

 The project "Strengthening the Kosovo* Institutions in Fight against Torture, Ill-treatment and Other Degrading Treatment" is funded by Norway and implemented by the Council of Europe.
