The first round of the trainings for HREIT was organised in Ankara on 23-24 June 2022 with the participation of 43 experts from the institution.

Through its activities and annual reports, HREIT aims to protect and promote human rights, to guarantee the right to equal treatment, and to ensure effective fight against torture and ill-treatment.

Within the scope of the above mentioned training, 32 participants were given the opportunity to increase their knowledge on national and international legal framework on migration, prohibition of degrading or inhuman treatment or punishment, non-refoulement principle (push-back), right to liberty and security, deportation and detention within the framework of the Law on Foreigners and International Protection numbered 6458, and the protection of private life and family life in the context of migration.

The content of the training was adapted to the needs of the institution in order to ensure that the personnel would gain comprehensive knowledge on the rights of migrants and refugees to ensure better protection of the rights concerned.

Certificates were presented to the participants by Deputy President of HREIT, Mr Yılmaz Bölükbaşı. He conveyed his appreciation to the trainers and the project team for the well-organised and fruitful training. Both the representatives of Council of Europe and HREIT expressed their willingness to engage in further cooperation in the future.
