The Human Rights Legal Clinic in Mostar was finalised on 12 June 2019 with a moot court competition. The Clinic was attended by students from both Law Faculties in Mostar - the Mostar University and the University Džemal Bijedić. It was run in both Universities in turns during the summer semester of the 2018/2019 academic year. After almost three months of extracurricular activities the students exchanged opposite views simulating the hearing at the European Court of Human Rights.

The Clinic aimed at giving law students, future legal professionals, practical experience on application of the standards of the European Convention on Human Rights and decisions of the European Court of Human Rights.

Professor Alena Huseinbegović, Dean of the Law Faculty, University Džemal Bijedić concluded that it can be noted that the participants have made a significant advancement in understanding how human rights can be protected at the national level. Ambassador Štefanek praised the efforts invested by the students, as well as the  teaching staff of both universities.

The Human Rights Clinic for students of Mostar Law Faculties is part of the project “Initiative for Legal Certainty and Efficient Judiciary in Bosnia and Herzegovina”. The project is made possible thanks to the voluntary contribution of the Government of Norway.
