Today, the President of the Advisory Committee on the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities, Petra Roter, and the Chair of the Committee of Experts of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages, Aleksandra Oszmiańska-Pagett, are meeting with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg to discuss current Human Rights challenges.

Topics on the agenda of this 10th Meeting of the Heads of the Monitoring and Advisory Bodies of the Council of Europe are, inter alia, the consequences of the war in Ukraine and of the expulsion of the Russian Federation, relations between the Council of Europe and the European Union, challenges of the democratic backsliding and the role of the Council of Europe monitoring and advisory bodies, as well as best practices to improve the efficiency of the Council of Europe’s monitoring and advisory bodies.
