A delegation of the Advisory Committee on the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities is visiting Georgia this week (15-19 May 2023) to evaluate progress made in the protection of national minorities.
This is the fourth visit of the Advisory Committee to Georgia. The delegation is having meetings in Tbilisi, Akhalkalaki (Samtskhe–Javakheti), Marneuli (Kvemo Kartli) and Pankisi Gorge with representatives of the government as well as civil society and representatives of national minorities to discuss the implementation of the Framework Convention.
Following this visit, the Advisory Committee will draw up its fourth opinion on the implementation of the Framework Convention in Georgia containing specific findings and recommendations for follow-up. The fourth opinion is expected to be adopted in 2023.
