Mission:

The expert group is developing a reference guide on Literacy and Second Language Learning for the Linguistic Integration of Adult Migrants, linked to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The authors intend to contribute to enhancing language learning opportunities for non- and low-literate adult migrants by supporting their language educators in designing, implementing, evaluating and improving curricula and teaching materials tailored toward the specific needs of the learners.

Jeanne Kurvers
Associate professor at Tilburg University (Netherlands); one of the founders of the international LESLLA association; consultant in the field of adult L2 literacy and integration programs.

Fernanda Minuz
Senior Lecturer in Italian Language at the Johns Hopkins University – SAIS Europe (Bologna, Italy); consultant in national and international projects on Italian L2/Foreign Language and literacy-and-second-language teaching.

Rola Naeb
Senior lecturer and programme leader for the MA in Applied Linguistics and TESOL at Northumbria University; currently serves as president of the association for Literacy Education and Second Language Learning for Adults (LESLLA).

Lorenzo Rocca
Associate Professor, Consultant to Società Dante Alighieri; member of the Council of Europe LIAM (Linguistic Integration of Adult Migrants) co-ordinating group; Chair of ALTE -LAMI (Language Assessment Migration and Integration).

Karen Schramm
Full professor of German as a Foreign Language at the University of Vienna; established a professional development program for L2 literacy in-service teachers at the University of Leipzig; consultant on L2 literacy to the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees.
