In the context of its 25-year review, the EDVAW Platform launched its new e-booklet during a high level panel on 17 March 2021, held in the margins of the 65th session of the Commission on the Status of Women with the participation of the President of the UN General Assembly, H.E. Volkan Bozkir and moderated by Ilze Brands Kehris, UN Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights. The booklet compiles the contributions made by the seven members of the EDVAW Platform in their respective geographic areas towards the implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action and calls for a human-rights based approach in the implementation of all strategies for the elimination of discrimination and violence against women. It recommends the firm anchoring of violence against women and the elimination of discrimination on the agenda of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) and calls for intensified co-operation between the CSW and the EDVAW Platform.
