International Women's Rights Day - GREVIO puts into perspective five themes of the Istanbul Convention in a new publication

On the occasion of International Women's Rights Day, the Council of Europe's Group of Experts on Action against violence against women and domestic violence (GREVIO) is publishing a compilation of the ‘focus sections’ extracted from its first five general activity reports, covering the period 2015-2023.

Drawing from GREVIO’s baseline evaluation reports, each focus section presents a contextualised analysis of the progress made in relation to a specific theme of the Istanbul Convention while also highlighting the areas where improvement is needed. The topics covered range from preventing and combating sexual violence, child custody, visitation rights and domestic violence, and risk assessment and risk management for women and girls exposed to violence.

A foreword by GREVIO President Maria-Andriani Kostopoulou gives readers a sense of the importance of these topics and how their choice came about. This new compilation offers an overview of GREVIO’s findings.
