The Intercultural Cities programme welcomes Salisbury !

It is with great pleasure that the Intercultural Cities programme announces that Salisbury (Australia) has joined the International ICC network, as well as the Australasian ICC network, and thus became the 153rd member of the ICC family.

Salisbury is located in South Australia and has over 140,000 residents sharing great cultural diversity. Currently over 30% of the population was born overseas and more than 70 languages are spoken in the community. Acknowledging this ever-growing diversity, the city is committed to progress as an intercultural city that fosters meaningful connections and understanding between and amongst diverse communities. The adoption of the city’s Intercultural Strategic Plan 2017-2027, the creation of the Salisbury Intercultural Community Alliance and the Salisbury Intercultural Strategic Alliance, as well its membership in the ICC networks, are all demonstrating the city’s commitment.

Salisbury was already known as a Refugee Welcome Zone and a Welcoming City, and it is now also an Intercultural City. By participating in the ICC programme and networks, Salisbury will have many opportunities to share its own experience in the field of intercultural inclusion and to learn from peers from all over the world.

A very warm welcome to Salisbury!
