The Municipal Administration of Reggio Emilia has created "Nati sotto lo stesso cielo" (Born under the same sky), a kit to be given to new citizens at the ceremony of conferral of Italian citizenship, as a sign of welcome in the community. The kit will be distributed for the first time, along with a copy of the Constitution, as part of the ceremony scheduled in the Hall of the Tricolore (national flag) of Reggio Emilia on 18 December, the International Migrants Day.
Entitled "Born under the same sky", the citizenship kit is a sort of vademecum of fundamental rights that are acquired together with Italian citizenship and represents a useful tool to accompany the new citizens in their inclusion process. It also contains information on the services that the City provides to address intercultural issues, city and national festivals and celebrations, symbolic and cultural places of the city. The kit is composed of several elements, including a series of postcards designed and produced by students of two fourth classes (4th A and 4th B) of Blaise Pascal High School of Art and Graphics who, through this experience, had the opportunity to follow an educational path on the theme of citizenship.
Some vouchers are also offered by local cultural and sports realities as a welcoming sign to the new citizens, in particular: 2 tickets for workshops offered by the Reggio Children Foundation and the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre (Pause and Atelier Lego digital); a free entrance to an exhibition of Palazzo Magnani; a free entrance to a match of Valorugby Emilia and Reggiana Calcio; the opportunity to participate in one of the initiatives promoted by Mondinsieme and to a city workshop organised by Reggio Children.
From 12 to 21 December the city of Reggio Emilia is also organises "D come di tutti" (“O as Of all”), a series of initiatives and meetings promoted on the occasion of the International Migrants Day by the Coordination of Human Rights of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia.
On 18 December 18, in addition to the offering samples of the Constitution in the Hall of the Tricolore, the exhibition "Identity and Citizenship" will be officially opened.
