Information and Communication technology (ICT) supports the provision of services for migrants’ integration (Patras, Greece)

ICT applications may become a flexible means for providing services benefiting the integration of migrants. This is at the heart of “MiiCT: ICT Enabled Public Services for Migration” project, which aims to develop information and communication technologies (ICT) to help deal with the challenges faced by those stakeholders involved with the integration of migrants. In other words, the main actors of the integration processes (such as migrants and refugees themselves, public services providers and NGOs) are involved in the project, in order to address and cope with the real challenges faced in the daily management of inclusion and integration.

MiiCT is following the principles of co-design and co-creation, involving migrants, refugees, and public-sector service providers - including healthcare, welfare and employment, in the participatory design of related ICTs so to ensure that the final product meets both the needs and expectations of the users.

MiiCT project is funded by the Horizon 2020 EU programme (IA-Innovation Action) and ALDA (European Association of Local Democracy) is among the MiiCT partners. Based on Patras’ membership to ALDA, the city supports the project and any type of pilot testing process.
