The City of Guro held on May 20th the first Intercultural Festival online to celebrate people with various cultural backgrounds who are residing in South Korea. The festival was held on Youtube instead of being an on-site event because of the coronavirus pandemic. It was part of the “Together Day”, a Festival which was celebrating this year its second edition.

The theme of the Intercultural Festival was "A new hope” and focused on interculturalism as a way to promote inclusion, diversity advantage and positive interaction in culturally diverse society. The Festival was further the occasion to present Intercultural Cities programme and core principles to Guro citizens, in view of the city’s future membership.

The Festival was opened by online congratulatory messages from mayors of sister cities, senators, city councillors and the Head of the Intercultural Cities Unit.
