The Anti-Discrimination Cooperation (ADCU) and Hate Speech, Hate Crime and Artificial Intelligence (HSCU) Units run extensive programmes of cooperation activities to help combat discrimination, hate speech and hate crime, as well as support the empowerment of minorities, the positive management of diversity and respect of human rights, including in the deployment of digital technologies, algorithmic and artificial intelligence systems.

First meeting of the CDADI Working group on hate speech and hate crime

During its 8th plenary meeting held in December 2023, the Steering Committee on Anti-Discrimination, Diversity and Inclusion (CDADI) established a working group to deal with its deliverables on hate speech and hate crime.

During the first working group meeting, the members met online to:

  • Review the compilation of promising practices at national level and the self-assessment tool for the implementation of relevant aspects of the Recommendation CM/Rec(2022)16 on combating hate speech at national level;
  • Discuss the roadmap and related activities for completing the CDADI deliverables on hate speech and hate crime as part of its 2024-2027 mandate, including a review report on the implementation of selected aspects of Recommendation CM/Rec(2022)16, and pending the adoption of the Recommendation on combating hate crime a compendium of promising practices at national level on combating hate crime
