Continuing online live talks on Human Rights

The Council of Europe Office in Georgia, together with the Public Defender’s Office, continue their series of live discussions “Human Rights Talks: Equality Matters”, where challenges and risks posed to human rights protection by the coronavirus outbreak are discussed.

The guests of the fourth online talks, on 29 April, were Darispan Prasher, Chairman of NGO Cultural Diversity for Peaceful Future and Eka Chitanava, Director of the Tolerance and Diversity Institute (TDI).

Darispan, who was born in India and is now settled in Georgia, shared his personal story  and information about the activities helping Indians living in Georgia with legal guidance and access to health and safety materials during the pandemic. On the other hand,  “Human Rights Talks” focused on the importance of cultural integration, the problems that foreigners can face in Georgia and the importance of sharing stories similar to Darispan’s with the general public. During the live stream, Darispan’s children performed a famous Georgian song “Suliko” live.

The talks in Georgian are available online.
