The Project “Promotion of the rule of law and fundamental rights through high-quality online trainings in the Croatian Judiciary” implemented by the Council of Europe (CoE) in cooperation with the European Commission DG REFORM is aimed at providing support to the Judicial Academy of Croatia to improve the methodology, tools and expertise to design and deliver high-quality training.
On 6 and 7 July 2023 five Croatian representatives, three from the project beneficiaries and two representatives of the judiciary attended the 2023 Annual Network Conference of the Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals (HELP) programme in Strasbourg:

- Mr Darko Milkovic, Head of State Judicial Council
- Ms Kristina Bekavac, Director of Judicial Academy
- Ms Nella Popovic, Head of the Judicial Academy International Cooperation and Projects Department
- Ms Lara Barberic, Assistant Representative of Croatia before the European Court of Human Rights and HELP focal point
The HELP network conference gathers members of the HELP peer-to-peer Human Rights Training Network - composed of representatives of National Training Institutions for Judges and Prosecutors (NTIs) and Bar associations (BAs) of the 46 member States of the Council of Europe and beyond - to present key developments and resources developed under the HELP programme, and to foster cooperation and mutual exchanges among the members on how to enhance human rights training impact.
The Director of the Judicial Academy, Ms Kristina Bekavac, intervened in the session on HELP Network members experiences “Integrating HELP courses in the national training curricula of legal professionals”. Additional meetings were organised for the Croatian delegation with representatives of the CoE Department for the Execution of Judgements, the Croatian judge Derenčinović and his team from the European Court of Human Rights, with HELP department representatives, as well as with Mr Frédéric DOLT, Head of Department for the Implementation of Human Rights, Justice and Legal Cooperation Standards. Progress in execution of judgements, progress in project implementation in view of digitalisation of judicial training with focus on human rights and rule of law topics as well as further steps in strengthening of the Judicial Academy and future networking and cooperation were discussed.
