The European Programme for Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals (HELP), supports member states to enhance their capacities to apply European fundamental rights standards effectively and coherently at the national level though trainings. With this new translation in French, the HELP online course on access to justice for women is now available in 6 languages (English, Bosnian, Greek, Macedonian and Ukrainian) and will be translated in additional languages in the future.
This online course provides a comprehensive overview of International and European women’s human rights and gender equality standards, case-law and established good practices. It is the first HELP course to provide a single resource on gender equality and justice covering the extensive Council of Europe standards, case law, monitoring reports and soft-law instruments on the matter. It will offer legal professionals a distinct and concrete tool for the promotion of gender-sensitive justice.
The course consists of the following six substantive modules:
- Introduction to the concept of access to justice
- International and European legal framework
- Discrimination on the grounds of sex and gender
- Avoiding gender stereotyping
- Practical guidance to improve women’s access to justice
- Gender sensitive approach to the practice of law

Upon successfully completing this self-learning course, a HELP statement of accomplishment (a document attesting the successful course completion) can be generated in an electronic format and can be printed by the user.
